White solid CaO + liquid H 2 O → Ca (OH) 2 weakly dissolved (aqueous), mostly suspended in water, with ΔH = ~ 1,155 kJ kg-1 of quicklime. The solid divided in suspension in water, of the order of 100 g L-1 forms what is called a “milk of lime”, calcium hydroxide is the white solid obtained after drying in an oven or in the oven.
